Active Lives – Professional Courses

Centre for Ageing Better, Age Positive Image Library, RS7705, Peter Kindersley

“I look forward to…changing cultural beliefs and attitudes towards old age…it certainly inspired me to…influence others.”

12 module online course supported by in-person group learning sessions for professionals / practitioners and anyone who works or volunteers with older people and wants to become more confident in helping them to look after their wellbeing and motivate them to lead active lives. This includes health and care staff, wellbeing coordinators, social prescribers, community workers and carers.

This is a fun and inspiring course where you will gain insights into the importance of supporting people to stay active as they age, overcome  barriers associated with ageing and how you can integrate this into your work with patients and clients. The course covers how to maintain fitness, think well and age well – in a way that  is relatable to a person.

There are 12 short modules that you can access online in your own time (5-10 minutes per module) that will provide you with knowledge and up-to-date research. Training is delivered by an experienced team; and we provide an added opportunity to join an in-person group course with other professionals to give you more in-depth learning, sharing of best practise and an understanding of local support networks, training and activities.

Supporting people to stay active and understanding the ageing process has been shown to improve health and wellbeing, experiences of service delivery and reduce pressure on services – so why not join a course. For details please contact: Jess Slade 07772 023170 jessslade@torbaycdt.org.uk
